Tata Sky is known to make some of the wittiest ads which I have seen in Indian TV. The new one, featuring Aamir Khan in a new avatar as a milkman is no different.
The new TVC depicts a situation where a customer pays the milkman for only those days when he was in town. But Aamir Khan as milkman in his irrepressibly humorous way counters the customer by saying that his cow was not aware of the customer's vacation and so gave milk every day. Following this, the milkman extracts the money from the customer, even for those days when the customer was out on a vacation.
This ad draws an interesting analogy to what a lot of customers face. When we go on extended vacations, the milkman, the newspaper boy all are informed of absence and we pay them only for those days when their services were required. But for DTH there is no such facility. But now thanks to Tata Sky’s offer, subscribers can save on their subscription fee while going on a vacation. This offer can be availed for a minimum period of 5 days and a maximum period of 15 days once in 12 months at a nominal fee of Rs 20. However, this service can only be availed once a year.
