Tata Sky Movies: Tata Sky DTH to premiere UTV, Eros movies on PPV channel

This is a treat for all the movie lovers. Tata Sky DTH has signed movie syndication deals with UTV and Eros for two recently released movies from each of them. The deal will see premiere of Kaminey, Agyaat, Chintuji and Vaada Raha…I Promise on Tata Sky’s pay-per-view (PPV) service, Showcase. The movies will be available for whole of the September.

In an interview to Indiantelevision.com, Mr Vikram Mehra, the CMP of Tata Sky said and I quote “The idea behind getting recent releases on PPV is to kill piracy, which also helps in monetization for the DTH operator as well as the producer. Also, the middle and upper-middle class family audiences get the luxury of watching a new movie at their leisure.”

Movies like Kaminey and Chintuji are available for Rs 75 each per viewing, while Vaada Raha is for Rs 100. Agyaat is available for Rs 50 on the pay-TV operator’s platform. Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey is a dark comedy showcasing the cunning side of humans to achieve happiness. The lead actors of this film are Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. On other hand, Ram Gopal Verma’s, Agyaat is a thriller and revolves around the realm of fear. A film unit goes for a shoot at a location deep in the forest of Sri Lanka. Each character in this film exhibits their quirkiness, their arrogance and their mixed feelings for each other.

I personally am quiet keen on this as there are several movies which I have missed watching in theatres which I would prefer to watch comfortably at home AND in good quality rather than buy a low quality pirated DVD.

Tata Sky+ new revamped website

Tata Sky+ has completely revamped its new website. The new site is sleeker and more informative than before. The new site has a fashionable new look which aptly reflects a premium product like Tata Sky+. On homepage, has a very nice photo of Aamir Khan and Gul Panag together. I can’t help but notice that there is a certain warmth in that photo. It isn’t quiet hard to imagine them as a warm loving and couple setting in their drawing room watching Tata Sky+.

The homepage has a demo which gives you an idea of how “Pause”, “Record” and “Rewind” features work. A good thing to have to let people get a feel of the product before they acquire it. On the right bottom of homepage, there is a testimonial section of celebrities who use Tata Sky+. This includes Kangana Raut, Purab Kohli as well as the ever stunning Pooja Bedi. In addition, don’t forget to check out the hilarious and witty Aamir Khan ads in the videos section. There are also sections on channel packages, Actve services etc . Overall, I think this is one of the best and most aesthetic sites I have come across in a long to.

India’s Got Talent Finals on Tata Sky+

The reality TV dance show India’s Got Talent concluded recently on 22nd August. I have been following this show for a long time. This program really brings out the cultural diversity and talent which our country has as well as the ability to fight against all odds. There were several performers who have overcome great obstacles in life to succeed. The two ladies in traditional sareers playing the saxophone was a sight to behold and the high point of the whole series was the performance by Prince Dance Group, consisting mostly of day laborers from a small village called Behrampur in Orissa. It simply took your breath away!

Fortunately, I have Recorded the entire semi final as well as the final episode on Tata Sky Plus. I do intent to watch these mesmerizing performances again and again. That is the power of Tata Sky Plus DVR. Everything that I want to watch is all recorded at the touch of a button. You haven’t seen the finals as you were busy on Saturday night? Too bad, get a Tata Sky Plus so you don’t miss something that’s as great, again!

Tata Sky Ads: Tata Sky+ Aamir Khan ads

Tata Sky+ has launched two new Aamir Khan Ads. Like all other Aamir ads for Tata Sky+ , these ads too are quiet funny. Also, they come depict the real time situations to which you can relate closely.

Take the first ad for instance, in which Aamir Khan is desperate to go to the loo during the match but worries about missing a crucial sporting moment. I had been through this situation a thousand times over, before I bought Tata Sky+. So I know how it feels. Thankfully those days are over and for this I thank Tata Sky Plus. Just like Aamir in the ad, I too Pause live matches when I have to run to the loo. Then, I can catch up with it without disturbing the flow of the match.

In the second ad, Aamir refers to people rushing home just to catch their favorite program or show. Aamir then suggests in a subtle way that if these people had Tata Sky+ at home, they would not drive rashly just to reach home in time. This ad incorporates a public service message about not driving responsibly. When I saw the broken mirror ad, I was struck a strange coincidence. Last week, someone driving very rashly broke my rear view mirror and I too have that mirror with me at home. So I understand very well what Aamir is talking about in this ad. So I would request people not to drive to rashly and buy Tata Sky+ instead of rushing home just to catch up with something on TV.
