Tata Sky service campaign

A few days back, I got a following alert on my Tata Sky :

“If the monsoon plays spoil sport leading to No Signal on your Tata Sky, reach out to us & sms NS to 56633 from your Registered mobile.

One of our representatives will get in touch and help you. If this requires a service visit from a Tata Sky engineer, it will also be taken care of - absolutely free!

This special offer is valid only till 31st August, 2010.”

Apparently, if the subscriber sends the SMS from RMN, then an FR will be raised and the engineer will visit the premises within 48 hours.

Rain outage is an industry wide phenomenon. In the monsoon season, many subscribers face signal problems due to heavy rains. But as far as I know, Tata Sky is the only DTH operator to take proactive steps to resolve the same. I see this as a genuine desire on the part of Tata Sky to acknowledge and improve some of the DTH industry wide issue which they face and build and excellent rapport with their customers. I have heard a lot of positive feedback from readers so it appears their strategy is really working well.

This works more in theory and less in practice . No response for nearly 10 days.
